On the continuing saga of Reagan's blood vial

Alex Dobuzinskis has written a piece for Reuters on threats of legal action from the Reagan Foundation against PFC Auctions if it turns out that the ballyhooed vial does, indeed, contain the blood of former President Reagan.

from the Daily Caller: Don't sell Ronald Reagan's blood

In the interests of providing a different perspective on the plan to auction a vial of President Reagan's blood, I offer this link to Craig Shirley's article for the DC.  While I'm not personally as bothered by the whole "atrociousness" of auctioning a dead person's blood, Shirley does make a strong argument about the morality of the blood not being given to Mrs. Reagan.  However, the whole chain of custody of the President's blood vial seems rather bizarre...but I'm not sure that there's anything legally to be done to go back and undo the past.

What are your thoughts?

Reagan's Blood Goes to Auction

From the Huffington Post...

Ronald Reagan Memorabilia: Vial Of President's Blood Up For Sale

Blood taken from Ronald Reagan after the failed 1981 assassination attempt against him has gone on sale via an online auction site.
The glass vial, which contains dried blood residue from the former president, went on sale on the Guernsey-based PFC auction site with a minimum bid price of £1,500. At the time of publication, the bid stood at around £3,000...
This certainly would be an interesting (if, perhaps, somewhat morbid) collector's piece.  Here's hoping the vial finds its way into the hands of someone who's a Reagan fan.
