The Reagan for governor campaign officially launched on 16 television stations throughout CA.  At the time, the other announced candidates were Laughlin E. Waters, George Christopher, and a little-known cosmetics manufacturer named William Patrick.

The AP reported that, while still a Democrat, Reagan worked for the Nixon campaign in 1960 as well as for Eisenhower in ’52 and ’56.
