Rearview Mirror: News Behind the News (June 23, 1965)

Fleeson, D. (1965, June 23). News behind the news. The Modesto Bee.

In this piece, Fleeson asserts that Spencer-Roberts and Associates’ primary job in the 1965 gubernatorial primary would be to help Reagan, “cloak his right wing history.”  She also hints that Barry Goldwater’s announcement of candidacy for senator from Arizona, as well as his formation of the Free Society Association, amounted to a clear calculation, “to extend his [Goldwater’s] influence.”

Update 8/4/2013:  It seems the cited issue of The Modesto Bee has been removed from Google News.
